Responsibilities
• To ride and sail with the vessel and conduct Vessel Inspections, Engine centric inspections, check Vessel ' machineries operational performance, observe vessel’s machinery running defects etc. Submit daily report including observations noted to Fleet Manager.
• Vessel Technical Inspection: To carry out Vessel’s Technical Superintendent’s inspections as per company ISM. Prepare reports and submit to Fleet Manager.
• Defect reporting System: To report all defects in Vessel “Defect reporting System”. Assist Vessel in closing of defects on board. Check that “Defect Reporting System ' is well implemented.
• Planned Maintenance System: To Check the Vessel’s PMS system, find the Gaps and assist Vessel in implementing PMS system on board. Check overdue Jobs, History of Job done entry, consumption of spare parts captured correctly, Jobs description etc and ensure that it is being well recorded and maintained. Prepare report on PMS and submit to Fleet Manager.
• Inventory management: To check that Vessel’s PMS / Procurement system is being used and implemented effectively. To check that Requisitions are being sent from Vessel, entry of Spares received made in the PMS / Procurement module, Check the actual inventory, location of spares, Critical spares ROB and match with the ROB declared in the system. To verify that required inventory level as per SMS. If any gap found, same need to be corrected with approval from Fleet Manager.
• Decarbonization Strategy: To contribute in proposing the measures which can assist Vessel to reduce the Carbon footprint. How to improve the “Speed Vs Fuel consumption” performance of Vessel, drive the concept on board “Save Energy, Save Bunker, Reduce CO2, Go Green”.
• Training and Drill: To conduct the training and drill of Critical Equipment operation, maintenance, use and emergency operation. Prepare report on training done and submit to Fleet Manager.
• Testing of LSA and FFA: To conduct actual test of LSA, FFA including Emcy Generator (on load test if possible), Life boat Engine, Emc’y Fire Pump , QCV, Funnel & other dampers etc Record the parameters, prepare reports and submit to Fleet Manager
• Dry dock Specs: To prepare Docking specs as per observed defects and condition of Vessel And as directed by Superintendent / Fleet Manager / Fleet Director.
• Vessel’s report: To review monthly reports being sent from the Vessel, implementation of office comment on monthly reports, Reports for Lub oil, cooling water, Boiler water, Fuel oil etc and ensure effective implementation of recommendation and compliance.

• To check the actual performance test of Main Engine, Auxiliary Engines, Boilers, Air compressor, Purifiers, OWS, Incinerator etc , prepare reports and submit to Fleet Manager.
• Bunker and Lub oil Survey: To check the actual ROB and compare with declared figures in Log Book.
• To attend vessels from time to time for additional project, emergency or any ongoing maintenance and repairs including supervision of cargo hold cleaning / tank cleaning, major repairs etc.
• To attend in house training and seminars to keep abreast of changes within the industry, both inside and outside with new requirements that may have an impact on the ongoing approval status of the vessels by the respective commercial parties.
• Conduct onboard crew appraisals and report to the management.
• Promotes the concepts of safety and environmental excellence, accident-free operations Promulgate the tagline… THINK SAFE, BE SAFE, RETURN SAFE

Specific Requirements
• Chief Engineer Class 1 Holder with at least two years ' sailing experience in CE rank.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of vessels technical knowhow.
• Previous shore experience preferred
• Working experience with multinational crew preferred
• Good organization, communication and people management skills
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Valid CE license and other seaman documents / certificates valid; USB1/B2 Visa, Schengen, Singapore Visas valid as far as possible
